Draft Profile: Bio
Denver Harris from North Shore High School was rated a 4-star recruit by ESPN and handed a 4-star grade by 247 Sports. Following high school, Harris opted to join Texas A&M after being heavily recruited.
In 2022 as a freshman Harris saw action in 5 games and played a total of 211 snaps at cornerback for the Aggies. He recorded 13 tackles, 2 assists, while adding 6 stops. In coverage Harris notched up 2 pass breakups, no interceptions, and QB rating when targetted of 75.2.
After the end of the season he transferred to LSU where as a sophom*ore for the Tigers in 2023 Harris played in 5 games and logged 217 snaps for the Tigers. He made only 7 tackles, no assists, and had one stop. In coverage he totaled one pass breakup, no interceptions, and QB rating when targetted of 108.3.
Scouting Report: Strengths
- Harris tracks the ball well and does a nice job of getting his head around in plenty of time to avoid flags.
- Can get up under a receiver’s chin and has the speed to flip his hips and run downfield. Harris has the quick and surprisingly powerful hands to jostle receivers early. But he’s at his best peeking into the backfield.
- Has more of a slot receiver skill set, but with more and more small, quick receivers emerging as No. 1 threats, is the kind of quick-footed cover man who can counter those kinds of pass catchers.
- Good instincts and anticipation reads and reacts with discipline. Dangerous with the ball in his hands.
- He’s also very good in zone coverage, showing a great understanding of routes and the ability to close quickly.
- He’s a better tackler than his size might suggest.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Like a lot of collegiate corners, Harris has a tendency to get grabby, something that will have to be coached out of him.
- Lacks a physical element to his game, and he doesn’t have a frame that can carry a lot of weight. He’ll get outmuscled at the top of routes by bigger receivers.
- Making the tackle against bigger backs is a potential issue.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance. For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.
*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
