Measure some distances:
- CPH-ARN-LAX-MUC-CPH = 12,354 miles (source)
- MUC-CPH = 504 miles
504 miles is 4% of 12,354 miles. Accordingly, you should be refunded 4% of 75% of the ticket price. The ticket price is what you paid for the ticket, but excluding mandatory taxes and fees. It is my understanding that this fare refund belongs to the one who paid for the ticket, so if the ticket was paid by your employer, the the money belongs to your employer. However, the 600 euros belong to the passenger.
To make it more complicated, you originally booked CPH-ARN-LAX-ARN-CPH, and I don't know if this somehow affects how you calculate the distance percentage.
Perfect, thank you very much for a clear explanation.

Hi again CPHFlyer and FT members.
May I ask another question?
As I wrote on post #4812 and #4815, my qualification period is May 2018 - April 2019 and basic points earned 17200.
It appeared like this yesterday.
Ive just checked SAS app and web today 00:50 AM.
I thought that it is already changed to Silver but its still Gold with qualification period changed to 1 May 2019 - 30 April 2020 and the points earned for this period is 0.
I see that I still have 62000 points to use.
Why is my status still Gold?
Is this because my card expiration date is July 2019?
Thanks, in advance

There is a three month grace period on the status. So you will get to enjoy Gold three months after your qualifying period. The principle is that if you only have the last flight to qualify the day before end of your term, you should not drop to silver while it posts and the new kit gets mailed out

In which time zone did you check? New Zealand or Hawaii? It can take quite some time until a day is really over.

For LH, OS and LX it does not work as they have locked down access for other carriers. Only if the other *A carrier needs to have access it works, e.g. a LH booking with SK feeder flight to FRA.
btw same reason CheckMyTrip wont pull up LH, OS and LX reservation anymore.
UA does not work at all
No idea about the rest of the gang.
Just a update (and not beating a dead horse).
Seems both Turkish Airlines and ANA (separate tickets) neither could be added to the SAS app. CPH-Flyer, I even received an email from ANA from [emailprotected] and the booking reference wouldn't work (in the SAS application). Still remains a mystery why some work and others don't as know Thai Airways did in October 2018.
Route was/is CPH-IST-ICN GMP-HND-ORD-IST-CPH (Currently in Seoul).

TK uses Sabre as native GDS and like ANA they won't allow SAS a peek into their reservation(s) where SAS has no role whatsoever.

Somewhat interestingly, WF flights have not been showing up in the SAS app for quite some time now, while that was the case before.

Here's the deal: I'm planning to take my kids to the USA, with at least some family members flying on award tickets with SAS in either Go or Plus, and I'm seeing availability from ARN via CPH to three destinations: BOS, EWR or IAD. I may choose to do an open jaw, into one city and out of another.
So, if we assume that all other things are equal, which flight/airport would you choose and why? What's the advantage and disadvantage with one flight/airport over another?

EWR for arrival into the US. EWR or IAD out of the US.
Passport control-related reasons for EWR.

Depends.
Both can be very bad. Last time I arrived in BOS they had queued up the arriving pax in the corridors all the way back to the jet bridge. I was never so happy to have GE as I could just walk by. Other times, never had to wait more than 5 minutes. The longer queues where when arriving with LH from FRA, the shorter ones arriving with SK. So, seems to be a problem of multiple incoming flights around the same time.
IAD can be hell, can be ok. What I hate about it, is the bus shuttles over the tarmac. Bad for a connecting flight, but for arrivals into the states with then taking out a car or hotel around not that bad.
Out of the three, EWR is definitely the best point of entry. For leaving the east coast BOS is great... You can just spend the day in the city in leave for the airport 90 minutes before departure without breaking any sweat.

There are times when BOS is super fast for me, and then there are times there where Ive been stuck for 30+ minutes without an ability to even see any CBP/passport control personnel in the distance there.
At EWR, its just more consistent, for better or worse.
IAD isnt so bad from a wait time perspective for these flights as long as youre terminating at IAD with IAD as your final destination.
At what time of the year are you looking to do the trip?
If this is for the fall break, then I would probably suggest doing ARN-CPH-EWR, visit NYC, then take a train to DC, and fly out of IAD. Just beware that it seems like SAS does more than its fair share of canceling IAD-CPH when it has a shortage of working equipment available for its network. But there are enough flights out of IAD that it shouldnt be too much of a problem to get rerouted if need be.
